It’s been a week….my car broke down, orange man is in Chicago taking people out their homes….citizens of these American streets and he had a talk with the military that could have been done by email. I’m tired but history repeats itself and I need y’all to read your history more nothing has changed but the year. I am not shocked by whats going on in the world. If you grew up in Charleston or any other racist city, you know what it is. Moving on we are in October and I’m glad for some cooler weather but I don’t like the cold…keep it in the 70’s and I’m good. If you are new here, welcome to the Gullah Porch a place where we gather for the tea, some wisdom, some buying from a small business and I answer a question of the week.
Some Wisdom
If it were a blessing, you wouldn’t have to pray to take care of it.
Small business shout-out
Body butter bakery is one of my favorite butters to put on my body.

Ask the Geechee Gal
Q: What are your thoughts on Colorism?
Short answer ….it exists and as a Darkskinned black girl it has always been hard. We can’t always use our looks to get what we want. I wrote a post about it more here. I think times have changed and I love seeing more darker skinned girls get some love but it’s still around. To overcome know who you are and love yourself no matter what.
