I have a confession…I’m not a fan of salmon. I asked the other day on a poll what are folk’s favorite fishes and they said salmon and red snapper as their faves. I prefer flounder myself and I think because I grew up eating that all the time with red rice. We call it red rice and fush. My kids love salmon though so I buy it for them all the time to cook and my son wanted to try a new recipe with his salmon. It’s called Honey Mustard Salmon and we had to play with this for a second to get it right so without further ado here is the recipe and please feel free to make your own changes to this as much as possible.
3/4 cup of honey
3/4 cup of dijon mustard
1 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 lightly coat a baking dish with vegetable oil combine the ingredients. Season the salmon with salt and pepper and then place salmon in dish coat it with the honey mustard mixture (only half of it) bake for 20 min brush the remaining honey mixture on the fish and continue to bake for 5 more min
It’s a simple take on a fun fish. Make sure you add in your own side dishes such as salad or veggies to make it a complete meal. You can even do grits too which is a great side item to get. How do you like your salmon? Tell me in the comments.
