Happy New year again! If this is your first time visiting the Gullah Porch welcome. This is a space where every Friday we drop some tea on the porch and we invite you to come in, take a sip, learn something, and go share it someone else. Every Friday (most) we do this series in the hopes of highlighting some wisdom for my people, giving a small business a shout out, giving you some news you need to read, and I get to answer questions I get asked all the time. So without further ado, come on the porch and sit a while…..

Of course, this is for the wealthy to come in and take over.
Ask the Geechee Gal
Q: What did you do for the New Year?
I visited the Chuck. I don’t live there but I come home at least 5 to 6 times a year. I live in Jawja (not Atlanta but 45 min out) and I have been here ever since I graduated high school (Burke). If I get the chance to come home I do and I love every min of it. I do plan on moving back there (unless I meet a rich man) but for now my kids are in Jawja so I’m where my kids are at for the moment. While in Charleston we visited the lights on James Island, ate at Iron Rose, and had some fun at waterfront park. Brings back so many memories and I am thankful I get to share them with the kids as often as I can.
