We went missing last week we promise it wasn’t the rapture we just needed to take a break off of social media. It’s good to take breaks find inspiration outside, then come back refreshed. Welcome back to the Gullah Porch a place where we invite you to pull up to get some tea, some info, and some wisdom. If you missed the last Gullah Porch you can find it here. September is almost coming to an end. Quick notes, we will be doing mostly hoodies and sweatshirts next month so if you want a shirt version of anything, make sure you are signed up to our newsletter to get that.

Some wisdom

If I tell you I got your back, you don’t need to turn around and check. I’m where I said I’d be.

Small business shout-out

I’ve been seeing people wear this shirt and I was like what brand is it because it’s unique. Found it!

Gotta be careful. Of course, they want to make an example out of her. Just don’t use it, even if you know boo boo around the corner sells them.

Ask the Geechee Gal

Q: Have you been to Target?

Yes, I have. My daughter wears a certain maxi pad. I went to 5 different stores (Including Amazon) no one had that particular one she wanted. I had to say Eff it and go into Target because I knew they had it and did. I bought 4 packs so I wouldn’t have to go in there and well maxi pads don’t last long so I found myself going back in there to get more and other items I couldn’t find elsewhere or weren’t willing to pay a higher price at the grocery store. So I have been in 3 times this year. Only for the items I need and nothing extra. We don’t own anything major, and while I love to take a stand, I also need things so it’s a thin line. People can argue with me, but before you do, let’s compare receipts of how many black owned businesses you’ve shopped at this month alone.
