Let me first say that I am not into Politics. Never have been. I didn’t grow up in a family that believed in voting. My mom would always say voting doesn’t matter, they will put who they want in the white house anyway. Don’t waste your time. I believed her until I saw President Obama elected I was like wait a minute, they put a black man in office? I looked up to heaven (my mom has passed away) and said you know what, Mom I think I’m going to get into politics and start voting. I was in my 30’s at the time and I have voted for every single thing since, even local elections, which are just as important. I was a part of the 92% that voted for VP Kamala and I was disappointed when she didn’t win. Fast forward to her now and I’m so proud that she gets to have her boots on the ground and talking to folks which is what she didn’t have time the first time around. Kamala Harris had her book tour in Atlanta and I decided to go. Here is what I learned…..

She is great at predicting what was and is going to happen. I almost want to call her a psychic. I mean, had we read the project mess we would have known too, but here we are. One of the things that she said at the book tour here in Atlanta was that half the people voted for her, half for Orange man, and the rest didn’t vote at all, which was a good chunk of people who didn’t vote and she wanted to really, truly find out why that was. I think most people didn’t like either of them and I do know a few people who stayed home because they didn’t read and assumed her background, kinda like DL Hughley did in the beginning. Also, we live in a racist country, so I’m also not shocked they will let a black man be the President, but a black woman chile, please.

I am currently reading her book as we speak and I will highlight a few things about the book in later post but overall I thought the event was done well and I can’t wait to dive into her book. We are going to get through this moment and sometimes we have to go through some shat before we get to the good.
I wore my say it to my face shirt for this event and I had so many people come up to me to get a picture or tell me they loved my shirt. If you want one of the shirts make sure you are signed up to my newsletter (link at the top of the page click subscribe ) I am always giving a shirt away even when it’s not on the website.
Have you read her new book? What are your thoughts?
