It’s Friday, y’all and there is a lot going on in these America streets. Kids are still getting killed, hate is spewing, and a man was shot whom I’ve never heard of before. It’s a lot take a moment to collect yourself and get off of social media if you need to. Come on the Gullah porch this week take a load off I have something stronger than tea, cause whew, we need it.

Q: What do you remember the most about 9/11?
I was a Sophmore in college when it happened. I had no idea why phones didn’t work that day and I never paid much attention to the news. I had no idea what had happened until they canceled classes for the rest of the day, and then I got to my dorm and saw the news. It was a day America will never forget. So many lives lost. What I loved about that day was that we came together as Americans, we put racism and politics aside to work as one. That’s not happening these days. It’s a lot of hate going on and you gotta pick a side. I’m black but I was also born and raised in America….we are going backwards and it’s sad.
